News and notes on the progress of the ongoing Monroe County 911 Center set up

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office finished training on Orion Vela from Plant/CML (Phase 2 wireless compliant 911 mapping software developed from DDTI's Accuglobe). The base map consists of the Location Based Response System data and OSIP aerial photography. It will be a very useful tool for the dispatchers.

June 10, 2008

Monroe County is ready to recieve 911 calls from two wireless carriers. AT&T which has cell phone service in Monroe County through Cellular One completed wireless phase 1 testing on June 3rd. Alltel tested wireless phase 1 and 2 the next day on June 4th. The dispatchers are using the new Vesta Pallas 911 equipment to answer the administrative and emergency calls.

Stalely Communications delivered the Plant/CML Vest Pallas 9-1-1 equipment and began installing it in the equipment room and dispatch office.

Dec 26, 2007

Staley Communications has the E9-1-1 equipment at their warehouse. They have scheduled training on the E9-1-1 Equipment from February 19-22, 2008. Letters were sent to the wireless carriers requesting wireless phase I service on December 11, 2007. Alltel has scheduled testing of Wireless Phase I service on May 17, 2008.
